TOURNAMENT ACCESS

Kungsängen Golf Club was invited by the Swedish National Federation, in association with the European Tour, to rent the King’s Course to the Federation and, thereby, host the Scandinavian Masters 2005.  Their decision was based on the quality of the PGA ETC Member Venues’ courses and their previous successful experiences in hosting the tournament. 

By renting the course for the tournament, the PGA ETC Member Venue received international sports media exposure.
Kungsängen Golf Club achieved their first opportunity to host the event when they approached the Swedish Golf Federation in 1994.  Through negotiations, the Federation and the Tour agreed that, if the club redeveloped the course to championship standard, in conjunction with European Golf Design, they would be invited to host the 1998 Masters.  This contract came to fruition and the venue went on to host another three Scandinavian Masters.
