CURRENT MEMBER VENUES

Quinta do Lago, with almost 1,000 members and a substantial share of the Algarve golf and tourist market, is one of the best-known venues in European golf and has long been regarded as the Algarve's flagship venue. 

Originally opened in 1974, Quinta do Lago has two 18-hole courses – the renowned and long-established South and the newer, more US-style North course.  Quinta has hosted more than 13 major tournaments, with past champions including Mark McNulty and seven-time European Order of Merit winner Colin Montgomerie. 

During the 1980s, Quinta do Lago hosted eight Portuguese Opens.  The 1990s saw major improvements and renovations being carried out on the courses and clubhouse.  The facility once again played host to the Algarve Portuguese Open in 2001 and the South course has recently undergone additional upgrading. 

Current expansion plans for the resort, benefiting from its ownership by PGA ETC, include the development of a further 27 holes of golf, a 150-room hotel and additional residential developments.
