When Irish Ryder Cup Hero Paul McGinley was asked to design his first ever Golf Course in Macreddin, Co. Wicklow, he wanted to exploit the beautiful natural canvas to create something dramatic.  Incorporating 160 acres of Macreddin Valley, a designated area of outstanding natural beauty, Paul drew on his years of experience as one of the sport’s leading professionals.

Located 50 minutes south of Dublin city, Macreddin Golf Club measures 7,173 yards from the back tees. The Par 72 course uses all of Macreddin Valley’s natural elements - panoramic views, mature tree-lined fairways with trees that measure up to 60 feet high, statuesque pines, well-protected greens and elevated landing areas.  The free-flowing brook weaves its way throughout the course, ensuring that decision-making is an essential tool which each golfer must carry.

Macreddin Village is home to BrookLodge, a luxurious 4* country house hotel, The Wells Spa and The Strawberry Tree, Ireland’s only certified organic restaurant.  Macreddin Village also hosts Acton’s Country Pub & Brewery, The Orchard Café, an organic Bakery & Smokehouse, a selection of food, wine and tableware shops, the Macreddin Stables & Equestrian Centre and, across the road in Macreddin Woods, the adventurous can go off-road driving.
