Oriol Mateu
Oriol Mateu is a qualified architect with nearly 30 years of experience in the field of construction and real estate development. He joined PGA Golf de Catalunya in 2002, when he was engaged as the Project Manager for the restructuring and development of the PGA Golf de Catalunya golf resort and hotel of 150 rooms.
Mr. Mateu’s previous experience includes Senior Construction Manager for a 30,000m² office building in Madrid designed by S.O.M; Senior Construction Manager for a 300,000m² shopping mall; and Supervisor for a residential and amenity park development.
He has been involved in many land development investment projects, in areas such as industrial real estate and hotel development for an engineering company, Sereland S.A. His role as Technical Manager for a Spanish-based construction company, Takenaka S.A. involved the development of a “turnkey project” of more than 200,000m².
As well as working in the private sector, including time spent as a free-lance architect, Mr. Mateu has worked in the public sector, spending a period of time as the Director of Architecture for the Catalan Public Administration.
