Juan del Río Nieto
Juan del Río is Chief Executive of PGA Golf de Catalunya golf courses (36 holes) and PGA Golf de Caldas (real estate). He is responsible for designing and planning the masterplan of the resort concept at PGA Golf Catalunya, including the 150-room 4* Meliá Golf Vichy Catalan Hotel which has been constructed to date, as well as the development of 430 residential units.
Prior to joining the PGA ETC Group in 2003, Juan worked as Chief Executive Officer of R&A Capital, a finance company that specialises in financing real estate and real estate and golf developments such as the Los Flamingos Golf Course & Resort and Hotel Villa Padierna. During this time, he also worked with the European Tour as a promoter and organiser of European Tour Events, e.g. the European Seniors Match Play Championship (2002, 2003 & 2004) hosting the top 32 players of the order of merit from the Seniors Tour.
Up until September 2003, Juan worked in the Telecommunications Industry as President of Telenor Media España (Madrid – Málaga) and, subsequently, as Senior Vice President of Korea Telecom (Seoul).
Juan has a Masters degree in Business Administration (SDA Bocconi – Milano), a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration (Richmond University – London) and a Diploma in Corporate Finance (London Business School – London).
Juan del Rio acts as a Real Estate consultant for PGA European Tour Courses.
